Abstract

Commencement speech given by T. H. Bell, U.S. Commissioner of Education at the Graduation Exercises of Utah Technical College at Salt Lake city; Utah Special Events Centers, Salt Lake City, June 3, 1976, 7:30 PM. The speech covers briefly the history of the College from when its appropriation was vetoed by the Governor of Utah and it almost closed through to the creation of the Redwood Road Campus. The primary theme of the speech is the relationship between Liberal Arts Education and vocational or "Practical" Education.
