Abstract
This digitized version reflects the contents of the printed catalog for the 1957-1958 academic year at Salt Lake Area Vocational School. This catalog applies to new students entering Salt Lake Area Vocational School in the 1957-1958 academic year and to any returning student whose governing catalog has expired. The school has as its avowed purpose the training of skilled hands for industry. Salt Lake Area Vocational School offers three distinct types of training in order to meet the needs of workers and industry. Depending upon the immediate and projected needs of industry and the labor force, an occupation or phase of an occupation may be offered at the school for one or more types of workers. The Day school is intended to meet the needs of those who wish to become qualified for employment in an occupation. The Evening School is concerned with workers who need supplementary training as they learn an occupation through on-the-job training as well as those who are qualified but who wish to increase their trade competence through study of subject areas of particular concern to them. Please note that catalog listings, including programs, courses, and classes, are offered contingent on enrollment and/or funding.
