Abstract
This speech recognizes the achievements of Howard B. Gundersen (as the first president of the College and his later achievements). In particular are the mention of specific faculty hired under Gundersen - Don Wellard, Parker Pratt, Harriet Vigen, Evan Jensen, and Florence Piacitelli - as well as the difficulties the College and Gundersen faced under J. Bracken Lee's term as Governor of Utah. Included is an anecdote of Governor J. Bracken Lee stating that the "growth and development of your College is tremendous. You've succeeded in spite of me!"
