Scott Fife: The Idaho Project
Personal Creator
Scott Fife
Description
In "The Idaho Project," Seattle artist Scott Fife recreates the Steunenberg murder trial through a series of busts of the characters. Fife explains: "This is a public piece of sculpture, made to engage the viewer and inspire a sense of inquiry, and knowledge. I am working in a classical portrait style, using references to portraiture busts of the Roman Republican era, to portray the participants in this historic early twentieth century event. The Sculptures suggest determination, doubt, anxiety, authority, deceit and inscrutability. It is as if the busts were rediscovered with the passage of time and their origins somewhat unclear." Exhibition held in the Street Level Gallery space.
