- Governor Calvin L. Rampton delivered an address to the graduating class (shown Right). Following Calvin's address President Jay L. Nelson (shown Left) notified the Governor that a campus building had been named in his honor: The Calvin L. Rampton Technology Building. The graduation exercise was conducted in Highland High School in 1973. Digitization completed with funds from a 2017 USHRAB (Utah State Historical Records Advisory Board) Grant that was awarded to Salt Lake Community College, Library Services.

- These are letters a relation to President Jay L. Nelson's tenure at the College. Nelson oversaw the transition from Salt Lake Area Vocational School to Salt Lake Trade Technical Institute to Utah Technical College at Salt Lake. His book, The First Thirty Years, documented the College’s history from 1948 to 1978.

- On Monday, March 31, 1969 at 11:00 AM, Utah Tech held a memorial service in memory of former President Dwight David Eisenhower. This was the date that President Richard Nixon proclaimed as a national day of mourning in honor of Former President Eisenhower. Governor Rampton had asked Utah Schools to conduct memorial services. President Jay L. Nelson delivered the Moment of Silence and Comments portion of the program. Both the Program and the comments made by President Nelson are included in this document.
