The Gail Miller Utah Leadership Cup is located at Hidden Valley Country Club. The fundraising event offers a chance for donors to enjoy a day of golf with friends, and an opportunity to test their skills with other leaders in the state at one of Utah’s premier courses. The Cup event creates scholarships for current and future Salt Lake Community College students. All of the proceeds from the tournament go directly to benefit deserving Salt Lake Community College students.

Chairman Area Board, M. Elmer Christensen. Attended schools in Murray, Utah and the University of Utah receiving a B.S. degree in Chemistry in 1923. Served as Utah State Chemist for 35 years. President of two national professional associations and was a member of the American Chemical Society since 1934. Served as chairman of the Utah section of ACS in 1937 and as a member of the Granite District Board of Education for 16 years. Recognized as "Man of the Year" in Utah Education in 1962, chairman of the Salt Lake Technical College in Utah Education in 1962, chairman of the Salt Lake Technical College and member of the LDS Hospital Board of Trustees. Born Sept. 13, 1902 in Manassa, Colorado to Martin and Louisa Mauss Christensen. Died June 17, 2002. Married Melba Morgan August 14, 1929 in the Salt Lake Temple. Norma Carr 2014
Description
Norma Carr is the first Utah woman to serve as athletic director for both men's and women's sports programs. She was also the first woman to officiate both men's and women's basketball. She graduated from Brigham Young University in 1969, where she participated in five sports. She started coaching at Davis High before becoming the first woman to coach Division I women's athletics at the University of Utah. She was the U.'s head volleyball coach and an assistant coach for basketball and softball. In 1989, Carr was named the athletic director for Salt Lake Community College. She's a member of the Utah Softball Hall of Fame, the Utah Coaches of Merit Hall of Fame and UHSAA Officials Hall of Fame and Circle of Fame. In 2009, she was named National Administrator of the Year. She also coordinates officials for the WAC and MWC and is the current director for Region 18, the region in which SLCC competes. While this pioneer in women's athletics announced her retirement she still plans to continue coordinating officials, as well as fulfill some duties for Region 18.
