Sniper Ben Norman Rubber Tree Plantation
Vietnam Sniper - George "Ben" Norman in a rubber tree plantation in Vietnam: "I haven't shaved in 3 weeks, had a shower or a change of clothes. I smell so bad the flies won't land on me. Every scratch and mosquito bite is infected and I have ring worm everywhere my ruck sack and clothes rub my body. I have leeches attached to my skin, dysentery and I have had to brush mosquitoes off muddy bomb craters to re-fill my canteens for drinking water. I am truly a "mad dog animal at this point", ready to kill! Before I arrived in Vietnam I weighed between 165-170 lbs... after returning from the field I weighed 138lbs! 25th Infantry Division 1970-1971. Whatever conflict or war you may have served in, the average citizen has no idea what an infantry soldier truly has to endure!!! This is why the infantry brotherhood is so strong because... we know!
