This tiger was killed about October 1968 by one of the gunners, SP4 Cipriano Rodriguez from Portland OR. "[Cipriano Rodriguez] was gunner flying back to Eagle in my LOH at about sundown. They were whizzing along following a road, down on the deck, when they came up on this tiger running along the same road. The night ambushes had been losing troops mysteriously for a couple of weeks but it stopped once this bad boy went down. Some guys went out and sling-loaded it back and one of the brass had the hide tanned and sent home. Great true story, and rare in that here's the picture to prove it!"

Skinner's crew chief from Ft. Hood until he was killed in Aug 68. ETS (Expiration of Term of Service) in Jan 69. Was there when the LRP ate the frog and died. Was there when Rodriguez killed the tiger. When Ken Christol was shot up. Was there when our Blue was killed in '68 after Skinner." Scout Platoon, D-Troop, 1st Squadron, 1st Cavalry Regiment.
