Left to right, Lieutenant Colonel Runkle, Bn Commander, Sergeant Major "Top" Fowler and Captain Dan Terry, Company Commander for Charlie company of the 1/5 CAV on April 3, 1968 at Landing Zone (LZ) Stud preparing for Operation Pegasus support. "On April 4, 1968, Lieutenant Colonel Runkle was KIA when his CC UH-1D Huey was shot down. On May 4,1968 Sergeant Major "Top" Fowler was KIA. About a week after I took this slide Captain Terry was wounded by 5 AK-47 rounds and wounds from a North Vietnamese Army (NVA) mortar. Captain Terry survived his wounds." -Vietnam Veteran.
