Single sheet dinner menu for Graf Zeppelin Restaurant is printed on newsprint paper in black ink. The cover of the menu displays a reproduction of the San Francisco Examiner newspaper, dated Monday, August 26, 1929. The leading article heading states, "City Goes Wild as Zeppelin Circles Overhead and Speeds to Southland." The heading is displayed above a graphic picture of a zeppelin flying beside a tall building in San Francisco. The bottom of the menu displays the name of the restaurant, the address and phone number along with the tag line "dedicated to early flight." The unfolded inside of the menu is divided into two sections. The section on the left side displays the title "dinner aboard" found at the top of the page. Food categories include appetizers, soups, salads, beef and seafood. Food options range from little brats, to North Sea fisherman's chowder, to watercress and celery root salad, to beef brochette, and poached salmon. Menu items are priced as a la carte or as complete dinners with the dinners priced one dollar more. The right side of the page features a little graphic drawing of a zeppelin in flight pulling a giant banner which reads, "The Graf Zeppelin." The food categories on this page include specialties of Europe, vegetables, potatoes, desserts, and alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Food options range from wiener schnitzel, to potato pancakes, to sauteed mushrooms, and apple strudel. The bottom of the page features a note about the history of the building and the people who owned it. The back side of the menu features a reproduction of the San Francisco Chronicle newspaper from January 19, 1911. The newspaper displays a graphic picture of a large ship, with the accompanying article title "Ely Makes History by Flying to the Deck of the Cruiser Pennsylvania." Other articles about aviation are included in this reprint of the San Francisco Newspaper.
