1998
Bi-foldDinner MenuThemed Menu
Single sheet dinner menu for the Wagonmaster Restaurant is printed on newsprint paper with black ink. The front cover of the menu is designed to resemble an old fashioned newspaper, the "Dodge City Gazette" for the date of August 5, 1898. "Wagonmaster Restaurant and Convention Center" is printed in the position of the "lead story" for the edition with a graphic of circled wagons found beneath. A photo of a man named "Babyface Slade" is printed on a "wanted poster" advertising a $4,000 reward for his capture. The unfolded inside of the menu displays the bill of fare and is divided into three sections. The section on the left side begins with a tag line "The original cowboy steakhouse." A text box resembling a rope surrounds the appetizer selections with "Beginnin's" printed at the top. A section for the "Yung'uns" under the age of 12 is found beneath. The "watering trough" drinks selection is found at the bottom of the section. The center section includes "The Chuckwagon" combo meal selections with "Dodge City Specials" selections found beneath. The section on the right side shows the "Wagonmaster Combinations" menu selections, "Frosty Suds" beer choices, and "Barkeep's Dust Drenchers" non-alcoholic beverage selections. A graphic diagram of a chuck wagon is presented on the page along with a list of items that were packed inside. The back cover of the menu displays a newspaper page with a printed photo of "Wild Bill Hickock" and an accompanying story. Other articles tell the story of the "OK Corral" and eyewitness testimony of the event. Menu options include buffalo meatballs, to T bone steak, to barbecued pork ribs, to deep fried shrimp, to beef shishkabob with vegetables, and fresh baked bread.
