Davis taught classes at Salt Lake Community College in scenery design. He was born on Jan. 20, 1927, in Salt Lake City to Chauncey Jacob and Evelyn Iza Akert Davis. He graduated from East High School and attended the University of Utah. She directed and produced 12 yearly productions at The Heritage School in Provo, Utah, where she was recently honored by having the 700-seat, multi-million dollar theater, the “Pat Davis Theatre,” named after her. These are documentation in relation to President Jay L. Nelson. He was the second president of the College. He oversaw the transition from Salt Lake Area Vocational School to Salt Lake Trade Technical Institute to Utah Technical College at Salt Lake. His book, The First Thirty Years, documented the College’s history from 1948 to 1978. Included are documents related to presentations given by President Nelson about the College; a Brief about his professional experience, activities, political affiliation, and communication skills; and Newspaper clippings that highlight Jay L. Nelson in his different roles at the College throughout the years as well as documentation of awards given to him.
