Captain Gerhold W. Hoffman, Company Commander, 407th Personnel Service Company before his untimely death. "He was enthusiastic and dedicated soldier and a leader and friend to his troops. He died after I was promoted to E9 and transferred to a two star HQ. He was my CO for about a month. He was AG officer, I think, but later when I came back for a visit, some people were complaining that hw was too infantry. Could be, I vaguely remember there was some kind of fighting posting outside the Company headquarters building that had not been there when I left. I think he was buried at Arlington." -Vietnam Veteran. Photo by William Carr Jr.
