- Tugboat Preparing to Tow the USS Daniel I Sultan into Harbor at Vung Tau, Vietnam
- Personal Creator
- William Carr Jr.
- Description
- "I took this from the rail. It shows the tug preparing to guide us into the harbor at Vung Tau, S. Vietnam. My Brigade shipped to Nam on the USS Daniel I Sultan, a WWII troop ship. Took us 3 weeks with a few hours stopover on Okinawa. Rough seas all the way. Lost one man the night we sailed from Okinawa. Don't know what happened. The ship circled, in the dark for a time looking for him." Photo and comment by William Carr Jr.

- Personal Creator
- Tom Everhart
- Description
- "BB-62 USS New Jersey in Tonkin Gulf 1969. We used to pick up Navy artillery observer. The 2000 lb rounds from these 16 inch guns could clear lots of real estate." USS New Jersey (BB-62) is America's most decorated battleship. The USS New Jersey is an Iowa-class battleship, and was the second ship of the United States Navy to be named after the US state of New Jersey. New Jersey earned more battle stars for combat actions than the other three completed Iowa-class battleships, and was the only US battleship providing gunfire support during the Vietnam War.
