Commencement group portrait named Left to Right: Honorary doctorate recipient Jack Alder. Alder was a founding member, in 1983, of the Salt Lake Community College Foundation providing scholarships to students needing financial assistance and served as an SLCC trustee until his death. Honorary doctorate recipient Patricia Davis. Davis is an actress, a director, producer and playwright. She directed and produced 12 yearly productions at The Heritage School in Provo, Utah, where she was recently honored by having the 700-seat, multi-million dollar theater, the “Pat Davis Theatre,” named after her. Senator Bob Bennett (In office January 3, 1993 – January 3, 2011), Thomas S. Monson who was First Counselor in the First Presidency (March 12, 1995 – January 27, 2008). Attendees and speakers at the Salt Lake Community College commencement of June 1996.
